Lily Yong:Educating Women on Bra Fitting
On how to determine bra size using a measuring tape:
‭“‬Strap tape around bust,‭ ‬if its odd number you add five and if its even,‭ ‬you add four.‭ ‬That'll give you your band size.‭”

On cup sizes:
‭“‬If you don't feel comfortable,‭ ‬it means you are wearing the wrong sized bra.‭ ‬But if you get yourself fitted into the right size,‭ ‬not only will you feel lighter because the bra is supporting you,‭ ‬but you will also look taller because the bust is lifted up.‭ ‬And you'll look slimmer too.‭”

On how to put on a bra correctly:
‭“‬Put your arms through the straps and onto your shoulders.‭ ‬Lean forward and let your bust fall into the cup naturally.‭ ‬Fasten your hook to the most comfortable position.‭ ‬Adjust your straps to make sure your breasts are supported,‭ ‬and that the back level of the bra is level with the front.‭ ‬If it is properly fitted,‭ ‬you will feel comfortable and supported all day long.

Bra care:
hand wash is best,‭ ‬wash with mild soap before putting it out to hang dry.‭ ‬For machine wash,‭ ‬it must be done under a delicate cycle in the laundry bag.‭ ‬Provide one day rest between bras.

How a properly fitted bra should look like:
  • the under band around the body is firm but comfortable
  • the back and the front of the bra is level
  • the wires are lying flat against your rib cage,‭ ‬enclosing your breasts without rubbing or digging into your breast or armpit.
  • It has a smooth outline without bulging out at the the top or the sides,‭ ‬or wrinkled cups.
  • It supports the weight of your breasts mainly with the under band and cups

Poetry
Here are the 2 poems that I've submitted to the school magazine( a yearly publication called the Marian Herald) last year. It's a pity that they got rejected.

-Saturday-

Empty corridors
behind closed doors

empty gates
before closed lights

is this
what my school is

to me
when I leave

I hoped
I wished

that memories unfading
faces ever haunting

would not be lost
ever ready to be sought

so wan and sad
so long my lad

Youre here
and I'll always be there.

The other one can be found here.

Tiger Balm
Interesting thing I found here. Might be useful in the future. Here's a copy of it, in case the original site crashed.

Tiger Balm recipe:

Ingredients: % by weight amt. needed for 56oz. batch

Menthol crystals 20% 9.6 oz.
Camphor blocks 32% 15.36 oz.
Bees wax 20% 9.6 oz.
Petroleum jelly 4% 1.92 oz.
oil of clove 8% 3.8 oz.
oil of cajuput 8% 3.8 oz.
oil of cinnamon 8% 3.8 oz.
( optional)ammonium hydroxide 1 oz.

Melt beeswax and petrolium jelly in a pot until completely liquified. Remove from heat, quickly stir in camphor blocks (may help to chop or grate camphor prior). Add rest of ingredients, stir until consistent, and camphor has melted. Pour into permanant container, and let congeal. The above recipe will make a nice tiger balm equivalent to the commercial white stuff. If ammonium hydroxide is added, it turns red, and adds a little more heat to it.
